A reed diffuser releases fragrance continuously with no flame or electricity — no open flame to watch in a home with children and pets — and perfect for bathrooms, entryways or work corners that need a steady scent all day.

The oil travels up rattan reeds and evaporates into the air; our 100 ml bottle lasts about 60–90 days, depending on use and placement.

They suit busy people who want a constantly fragrant home with minimal effort — just set and forget, with no flame and no smoke. Choose a bottle and scent that match your decor, since a diffuser doubles as a decorative object.

The number of reeds is the volume control most people overlook. A 10-15 m² bedroom or bathroom is happy with four or five; a 20-30 m² living room wants seven or eight. If the scent is too strong, pull reeds out rather than moving the bottle, and flip them once a week so the throw stays even across the bottle’s life. Ours are sold pre-filled as a complete set and are not designed to be topped up, so when the oil runs out you replace the set (the glass is worth keeping as an object) — the Aromatic Refill bottles in the shop are for the Smart Scent Diffuser machine, not for reeds.

How to choose a reed diffuser

• •Space size: small bottles suit bathrooms/desks; larger bottles suit living rooms.
• •Reed count: more reeds = stronger scent; remove a few for a softer throw.
• •Placement: near gentle airflow (but out of direct sun/heat) helps the scent travel.
• •Flip the reeds every 1-2 weeks for an even scent and longer life.
• •Reed count is the volume: four or five for a small room, seven or eight for a living room — adjust any time.
• •Placement: keep it out of direct sun and away from air-conditioning vents; heat and draught can nearly halve how long a bottle lasts.
• •Long run: pick a scent that has a refill, so you top up the bottle you own instead of buying a whole set again.
