Wax melts are wickless scented cubes used with a candle warmer or burner. Warmed gently, they melt and release a rich fragrance — with no flame.

One wax melt (about 20g) gives eight to twelve hours of scent across several sessions, because the wax is not burned the way a candle is — only the fragrance leaves. The same cube can be re-warmed until there is nothing left to smell. To tell when it is done, sniff it cold: no scent means it is time to change. Pour the old wax out while it is still slightly warm and it lifts out in one piece, which is much easier than chipping at it once it has set hard.
How to choose and use wax melts
- •Use with a candle warmer or burner (never light them directly).
- •Start with one cube and add more for a stronger scent.
- •When the scent fades, pour out the old wax while still warm and add a fresh cube.
- •Keep a few scents on hand to rotate by room and mood.
- •Per session: one cube per warmer covers a 15-20 m² room. Two cubes does not make it twice as fragrant.
- •Changing scent: wipe the plate clean with tissue while the wax is still warm, or the old scent carries into the new cube.
- •Storage: keep them bagged, out of light and heat — a melt left out in a hot room fades before it is ever used.
- •Warmers only: never melt a cube on a hob or in a microwave — the wax overheats and the burnt note swamps the fragrance entirely.
